BILL & MELINDA GATES CENTER
In response to the growing College of Computer Science & Engineering, the Bill & Melinda Gates Center provides a critical expansion as well as an addition to the campus fabric connecting the upper Drumheller Fountain area to the university stadium district below by Union Bay. The site improves pedestrian connections across Stevens Way and embraces the adjacent Mechanical and Civil Engineering buildings on either side. The terraced landscape provides opportunities to navigate the steep terrain through the use of stairs and accessible ramps while creating signature Northwest exterior spaces with overlooks, nested lawns, and shared plazas.
