CONNECTING DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND MASTER PLAN

Originally designed by architect Daniel Burham in 1903, the Cleveland Downtown Mall is revived through the Connecting Downtown Cleveland Master Plan. In an effort to reestablish the urban heart of downtown Cleveland, the plan restores the relationships between the downtown’s civic spaces, streets, and promenades to its lakefront. The Master Plan, inspired by this original example of Burham’s City Beautiful movement, reconnects the city fabric to its central mall, allowing new urban activities throughout the year to reinvigorate a once forgotten landscape.
