WARD VILLAGE GREEN

Ward Village is a proposed 60 acre community development in Kakaako, Hawaii, sitting on the historic land of Curtis and Victoria Ward’s “Old Plantation.” Ward Village Green and its twin condominium towers act as the catalyst site for this mixed-use development, creating a culturally rich district. The design features distinct characteristics throughout both the landscape and architecture that pay homage to the artistic and locally-focused Victoria Ward and the global industrialist, Curtis Ward. The design uses thematic elements of “Play, Innovate, and Celebrate” as water features that recall ancient Hawaiian practices of Ahupua’a - laws of land and water.

Work completed at Gustafson Guthrie Nichol while Derek Hoetmer was employed as a landscape designer.
